What you need
The documents, for manufacturing.
Every sector needs the same eight base documents. What changes is the sector-specific list, and that is where applications get rejected.
KDN publishes the construction, services, plantation and agriculture checklists at one path; the manufacturing one is not there. We have asked for it rather than reconstruct it from secondary sources, and this page will say what it says the day we have it.
The eight every sector needs
- The completed form, signed by a director named in Borang 49
- Section 60K approval certificate from JTKSM
- SSM company registration, current and certified this year, with the receipt
- Owner or director's IC
- Company representative's credentials, if someone attends for you
- KWSP contribution statement, last 3 consecutive months, certified by KWSP
- Audited accounts, or management accounts certified by an MIA-registered auditor
- Bank statements, last 3 months, certified by the bank on page one of each month
What KDN says
“Permohonan yang tidak lengkap, tidak teratur dan tidak menepati kriteria yang telah ditetapkan akan DITOLAK.”
Applications that are incomplete, disorderly, or do not meet the criteria will be REJECTED.

Other sectors
We cover all five.
Construction
Pembinaan · levy RM1,850/yr
CIDB-registered contractors. The sector with the most moving parts, and the only one where your grade decides which door you use.
Services
Perkhidmatan · levy RM1,850/yr
Restaurants, cleaning, wholesale and retail, laundry, cargo, and the rest. The sector with the most named subsectors and the most sector-specific paperwork.
Plantation
Perladangan · levy RM640/yr
Oil palm, rubber and cocoa estates. The lowest levy of any sector, and the paperwork is about land rather than projects.
Agriculture
Pertanian · levy RM640/yr
Farms, livestock and aquaculture. Same lower levy as plantation.
